The best wooden ferry boat toy for carrying pretend vehicles is the Mentari Car Ferry, which includes four vehicles and loading ramps at both ends. For railway play, the BRIO Ferry Ship adds lights and sounds and connects with BRIO train sets. The Green Toys options are better for real water play, but they are plastic rather than wood. The iPlay, iLearn car set is not a ferry or wooden toy; it is included as a related vehicle-play option for younger toddlers.

Mentari Wooden Car Ferry Set
Best for: Children ages 3 and up who want a wooden ferry with vehicles ready for pretend trips. The set includes a ferry, car and caravan, campervan, and truck. Loading and unloading at both ends gives children a repeated play activity that can exercise coordination and fine motor skills.
The ferry is made from solid rubber wood and uses non-toxic paint, according to the product details. Its listed dimensions are 13.98 by 4.53 by 4.72 inches. It is the most direct match for shoppers seeking a wooden ferry boat toy with several included vehicles.
Limitation: This is a pretend-play toy and cannot be put in real water. Choose it for tabletop or floor play, not bath time.
BRIO World Ferry Ship
Best for: Children ages 3 and up who already enjoy railway play or want a ferry element in a train-themed setup. This three-piece set has push-button light and sound features, and the product information states that it is compatible with BRIO railway sets and tracks.
Choose this ferry if connecting train play is more important than getting a set of cars and trucks. Its interactive features offer another way to engage with the toy beyond loading and unloading vehicles.
Limitation: The listed details emphasize railway compatibility and interactive features, not real-water use. It is a better fit for train layouts than for bath play.
Green Toys Floating Ferry Boat
Best for: Families looking for a ferry-shaped toy for water play rather than a wooden display or floor toy. The product is described as a floating vehicle and bath toy, making it a more appropriate choice for tubs and water-based pretend play than the Mentari wooden ferry.
The product listing identifies it as a Green Toys ferry boat. Its listed package dimensions are 16.891 by 17.399 by 26.492 centimeters.
Limitation: This option is not wooden. The supplied product details do not specify included vehicles, so choose it if the boat itself is the priority rather than a multi-vehicle set.
Green Toys Ferry With Mini Cars
Best for: Children who want ferry-and-car pretend play in the bath or for indoor and outdoor use. The listing describes a ferry boat with mini cars and says it is made in the USA from 100% recycled plastic. It also states that the toy is designed for safe, durable indoor and outdoor play.
The product details specify that it contains no BPA, phthalates, PVC, or external coatings. Choose this version over a boat-only option if the included mini cars are important.
Limitation: It is made from recycled plastic, not wood. It is not the right choice for shoppers who specifically want a wooden ferry.
iPlay, iLearn Press-to-Go Cars
Best for: Families seeking simple push-car play for younger children, rather than a ferry boat. The cars move when a child presses down on the head, and the listing says they do not require batteries. The product is described as having rounded edges, smooth surfaces, and no small parts.
This is included only as a related vehicle-play alternative. Its bright colors and cartoon character designs are presented as features intended to encourage curiosity and sensory and cognitive development.
Limitation: This set is not wooden and does not include a ferry. Avoid it if your main goal is a wooden boat with a loading deck.
Buying Guide: How To Choose A Ferry Boat Toy
Should you choose wood or a floating toy?
Choose a wooden ferry such as Mentari’s for pretend journeys on a floor or table. It cannot go in real water. For bath or poolside play, choose a product specifically described as floating, such as the Green Toys ferry. The Green Toys options are plastic, not wood.
Do you want vehicles included?
Check the set contents before buying. Mentari lists four vehicles: a car and caravan, campervan, and truck. The Green Toys ferry with mini cars includes cars, while the other Green Toys listing does not specify included vehicles in the supplied details. BRIO is designed around railway play.
Is railway compatibility important?
The BRIO Ferry Ship is the clearest choice for adding ferry play to a BRIO railway setup because its listing states compatibility with BRIO railway sets and tracks. For a standalone vehicle-loading activity, the Mentari set is a better match.
What age and play setting should you consider?
The Mentari and BRIO listings specify ages 3 and up. The iPlay, iLearn product is marketed for toddlers, but it is a car set rather than a ferry. Match the toy to the child’s age and the intended setting, and follow the product’s age guidance.
