Murder Mystery Party, Pasta, Passion & Pistols
While not Hawaiian in label, this option offers a lively, food-centered mystery vibe that can be adapted for a tropical setting. The game invites up to eight players to solve a crime in a themed Italian restaurant, with crime scene clues and character roles designed to drive conversation and deduction. For hosts seeking a lighter, more humorous mystery that fits a relaxed dinner party format, this title provides clear roles and a structured path to reveal suspects and solutions. It’s a flexible pick if you want a palate cleanser between more tropical episodes or a post-dinner dessert mystery.
Murder Mystery Party, A Taste for Wine & Murder
The Taste for Wine and Murder Mystery Party Game is a dinner party in a box with a vineyard backdrop. A body is discovered at a California vineyard, and players must uncover the culprit before the killer strikes again. Although not strictly Hawaiian, this option supports island-inspired evenings through tropical dress, wine-tented settings, and a sun-drenched atmosphere in the party narrative. Each player receives a character booklet with roles and background information, enabling rich role-play and suspicion-building as guests navigate motives and alibis while enjoying wine-inspired themes and coastal decor. It is well-suited for groups that enjoy immersive storytelling with a sophisticated, festive vibe.
Talking Tables Murder Mystery At The Palm House

Murder Mystery Party Games, Murder at Mardi Gras
This title places players in a festive Mardi Gras setting, with a masquerade ball and intrigue as core elements. While not tropical, the party atmosphere and island-adjacent social dynamics can be adapted for a luau-inspired gathering with tropical decor, Hawaiian-inspired fare, and beachy music in the background. The game supports 6 to 8 players, emphasizes social deduction, and invites guests to engage in role-playing as suspects and investigators. If you want to lean into a Caribbean or coastal vibe with a broader island influence, this option can be a versatile pick.
Murder Mystery Party Underwood Cellars
Underwood Cellars offers an immersive murder mystery set in a Napa wine scenario. It emphasizes realistic evidence, including victim and suspect photos, crime scene photos, and newspaper articles. While the wine-country setting isn’t tropical, guests can still enjoy a luau-inspired twist by pairing tropical cocktails with a wine-soaked mystery atmosphere. The game is designed for one or more players aged 14 and up, providing a deep narrative and challenging clues that require careful analysis and collaboration to solve the case. It’s ideal for guests who appreciate a more serious mystery angle and detailed props.
Murder at The Pizzeria

The emphasis on all guests being suspects adds a lively dynamic to the evening.
Buying Guide: Key Purchase Considerations
When choosing a Hawaiian-themed or island-inspired murder mystery party, consider these factors to ensure a good fit for your group:
- Group size and player count: Some titles work best with 6–8 players, while others accommodate 8–14+. Plan based on your guest list and desired pace.
- Theme and setting: If you want a strictly Hawaiian luau vibe, prioritize titles with a luau or tropical backdrop. If you’re flexible, you can adapt other settings (wine country, Italian restaurant, Mardi Gras) with decor and costumes to evoke a tropical mood.
- Complexity and time: Check how long the game lasts and the level of deducing required. Choose a lighter format for casual gatherings and a deeper narrative for more invested groups.
- Replay value: Some games offer multiple endings or additional clues, increasing value for repeat events. Consider this for hosts who plan frequent game nights.
- Materials included: Look for games with clear character booklets, clues, invitations, and voting sheets. A robust kit minimizes prep time for the host.
- Costume and decor potential: For a Hawaiian theme, select games that provide strong role-playing opportunities and stomach-friendly party planning ideas—leis, tropical cocktails, and beachy music.
- Age appropriateness: Ensure the chosen game supports your group’s ages and comfort with themes. Some options are explicitly for adults, while others are suitable for teens as well.
In summary, a Hawaiian murder mystery night can range from a festive, luau-focused mystery to a broader tropical-inspired party with a mystery core. The right choice depends on your guest count, preferred level of immersion, and how deeply you want to lean into island aesthetics. Each option listed offers a distinct balance of clues, props, and narrative depth to help you host an engaging, memorable event.
