Buying Guide
- Scale and display: Most figures range from 3.75 to 6 inches. Consider a consistent scale for a cohesive display or mix sizes for variety.
- Articulation: Look for 20-point articulation on 5-inch figures for dynamic posing; smaller figures may have fewer joints but can excel in display density.
- Licensing and authenticity: Officially licensed figures tend to have better paint detail, packaging, and accuracy to the source material.
- Accessories: Evaluate included gear (weapons, masks, posters) to maximize display and storytelling options.
- Display safety: For households with children, ensure small parts are age-appropriate; consider display cases or shelving.
- Thematic compatibility: If building a Day of the Dead or horror collection, align with similar color palettes, sculpting styles, and narrative universes.
- Price vs value: Balance collectible value with display needs; limited editions or movie tie-ins often command higher value over time.
- Maintenance: Gently dust figures and avoid direct sunlight to prevent paint fading and material degradation.
- Cross-franchise appeal: Some figures blend themes (Day of the Dead aesthetics with horror or DC/McFarlane universes) that may broaden display appeal.
